Although Dallas' Jordan Spieth lost in the quarterfinals, Denton's Kelly Kraft and Texas A&M's Jordan Russell advanced to the semis.
Kraft, a recent SMU grad, defeated Patrick Rodgers, 6 and 4. He will play Jack Senior of England on Saturday for the chance to play in the final.
Russell defeated defending champion Peter Uihlein, 2 and 1, and will face Patrick Cantlay in the semis.
Spieth led most of his match against Senior but could not hang on.
