Playing with his parents at Tenison Highlands in Dallas on Monday, Scott Roden made two holes in one in a four-hole span. He's 10.
Scott, who began playing at age 4, aced No.2 with a 9-iron from 95 yards. The celebration had hardly subsided when he holed a 5-iron shot from 126 yards on No. 5.
``It was unbelievable,’’ said his father, Jay Roden. ``What a magical day.’’
The Rodens belong to Lakewood Country Club in Dallas but play regularly on Mondays at Tenison. Scott, a lefthander, gets instruction from Cameron McCormick of Brook Hollow Golf Club and competes in Northern Texas PGA events. He got his first ace on his 8th birthday.
The odds of making two holes-in-one in the same round are about 67 million to 1, according to Golf Digest. Only about 150 two-ace rounds aces have been recorded.
Asked if he planned a quick trip to Las Vegas, Jay said, ``No, but he’s playing in a tournament there in June.’’
