Jarrod Lyle and Daniel Summerhays have been added to the field for the May 19-22 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.
One of the tournament’s traditions is to have past champions select two promising pros who have never been eligible for the invitational event.
Lyle, a 29-year-old Australian, finished fifth in the 2010 Qualifying School tournament, and recently tied for fifth in the PGA Tour’s Mayakoba Classic. Summerhays, 27, earned his PGA Tour card via 2010 Nationwide Tour earnings. His best finish this season is a tie for 11th at the Bob Hope Classic.
Former Champions’ Choice invitees include: Davis Love III, Paul Azinger, Billy Mayfair, Mark O’Meara, Curtis Strange, Stewart Cink, and more recently - Jason Day and Bill Haas. Sixty-eight of the 113 choices have become PGA Tour tournament winners. For tickets, information: www.CrownePlazaInvitational.com; 817-927-4280.
