Mickelson places order with golf gods: Supersize me

What's wrong with this picture?

That's a broomstick in Lefty's hands.

On the eve of the Deutsche Bank Championship, Phil Mickelson is wondering if going long will help drain the short ones.

He experimented with a Callaway Sabertooth long putter during Thursday's pro-am. The tournament in Norton, Mass. begins today.

"I thought I'd give it a try," Mickelson told Ron Sirak of Golf Digest.

Mickelson is following a widespread trend on Tour. Keegan Bradley became the first player to win a major using a long putter at the PGA Championship. Will Lefty have the broomstick in the bag when he tees off on Friday?

``I wouldn't rule it out,'' he said.
